“Being in this competition and getting to know all the amazing people were unforgettable experiences for me. After winning the grand prize, I took a little break since I did prepare for a long time for the ACTS competition. Even if I hadn’t won this competition, I still would have learned a lot. It can get quite overwhelming and intense sometimes, but ACTS will teach you important lessons and give you great experiences!” - Christina Lee, 2012 Grand Champion "Hello everyone, this is Inah Patrizia, the 2011 ACTS Grand Champion! I had the experience of a lifetime last year, competing against hundreds of very talented artists. I got to meet the judges who were there to guide us every step of the way; different artists who have not just shared their talent with the Asian-Canadian community, but have also shared their talent with me and have inspired my own musical style; and our fearless leaders, Anh Tran and Anna Do who are, hands down, the best organizers you will ever meet. Throughout each round, you will get to make new friends, create new connections, go to a couple photo shoots, perform for new audiences and grow as an artist - the ultimate competition experience. So please audition and share your talent with us! I can't wait to see the talent that will come in this year. Remember, it's not all about winning; it's about doing what you love." - Inah Patrizia, 2011 Grand Champion "If you love music, you should really consider joining the Asian Canadian Talent Search. I joined ACTS last year and I loved every minute of it! Anh and Anna made the competition enjoyable for both the contestants and the audiences throughout the whole competition. The competition was a great way for myself to improve my skills and to show my ability to others. Throughout the whole thing I made great friends. I'm very glad to have participated in this competition. Kudos to A Blue Sky Event and the CMC." - Roy Tugbang, 2011 Runner-Up "ACTS will always be one of the most memorable and rewarding experiences for me. Initially, I joined the competition in order to overcome my fear of singing in front of people, but I ended up getting so much more out of it. Since competing in ACTS, I've had the privilege of performing for notable Filipino artists Pilita Corrales and Josie De Leon, I've been a featured artist on 101.3FM and AM530 radio stations, I've competed in the Global Singing Idol competition, and I have represented Studio 75 Productions in promoting local Filipino talent. Currently I am one of the founding members of the Josie De Leon School of Performing Arts and I'm enjoying the experience tremendously. When I look back at everything I've accomplished over the past year since walking into that audition room, hands shaking uncontrollably, armed with nothing but 26 years of shower singing and an acute fear of urinating, vomiting and/or dying on stage, I just smile. I will always be grateful to ACTS for introducing me to new friends, igniting my passion for music, and opening up doors of opportunity that I wouldn't have had otherwise. I encourage anybody who loves to sing, meet other talented artists within the Asian community, and grow as an individual in a fun and unique experience to join ACTS!" - Glenn Sevillo, 2011 Finalist "Dear contestants, this is Jane, the winner of 2009 Sing For Your Heart competition. I would like to personally tell you how happy and proud I am that I've participated in this wonderful talent search, which showcases all the beautiful singers in the Asian community in Toronto. The competition has helped me to gain more popularity and recognition as a singer in the community, hence now I am very busy performing in many local events and galas. Don't miss this great opportunity to show your talent, and be the next Asian Idol!" - Jane Lu, 2009 Grand Champion Q: Since participating in the ACTS, tell us about your career in the music industry? - Hua Chang Lee, 2008 Finalist | |
